Video door phones are commonly used in apartments, to see who is at the door and unlock the door if the visitor is a known person. A screen is affixed inside the residence which comes to life when someone presses the doorbell. An outdoor unit is affixed on the door which consists of the camera, a microphone, a speaker, and a push button (the bell). The visitor is able to communicate with the person inside the house and the unit allows for two way communication.
